Two of Scotland’s award winning artists, Fara and Symbiosis, will perform in Berlin for the very first time.

The 3rd of December sees the opening of a new concert series ‘Ceòlas, Scottish music nights’.

The bands performing are BBC Scotland award winners, German Critics award winners and UK wide BBC award winners.

Described as one of the best bands in a generation, they blend blazing fiddles and driving piano with beautiful harmonies in a skilful, yet seemingly effortless way. Winning the German critics award in 2019 (music journalists annual award) the band will play Berlin after a rapturous reception at the Rudolstadt Festival this summer. Returning to appear at the BBC Scots Traditional Music awards.

Hailing from the Islands of Orkney, The Girls have know each other since the age of two and grew up learning the world-renowned Orkney fiddle style. Releasing their new album ‘Energy Islands’ in the early Autumn of 2022, the music centres around their home and it's centre for renewable energy and has received five-star reviews from around the globe.

Symbiosis feature the award winning piper Ali Hutton, who regularly performed with the Old Blind Dogs, a firm favourite in Germany. Tonight he appears with his own band Symbiosis featuring Jenn Butterworth and Jack Smedley.
