Two more award winning Scottish artists, Talisk and Beth Malcolm Duo are touring Germany in November/December 2023
Ground-breaking, chart-topping, genre-bending, globetrotting, instantly enthralling… it’s little wonder that Ta l i s k rank highly amongst the most in-demand folk-based groups to emerge from Scotland in the last decade and more.
Mohsen Amini (BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards’ Musician of the Year), Graeme Armstrong andBenedict Morris (BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year) fuse concertina, guitar and fiddle to produce a truly innovative, multi-layered signature that has captivated audiences around the globe. At its core, three seemingly acoustic instruments - but in the hands of three master craftsmen; one unmistakable, bold sound and a captivating live show.
Beth Malcolm is a singer-songwriter and keyboard player from Perth. Beth’s music is folk-inspired, and she sings a mix of traditional, modern and self-penned Scots songs. She was announced as BBC ALBA Scots Singer of the Year 2022. She releases her debut album 'Kissed and Cried' in Spring 2023.
Beth has joined up with outstanding guitar player and singer Heather Cartwright, to form the Beth Malcolm Duo. Carlisle-born Cartwright’s sensitive playing has taken the folk scene by storm, and the pair perform their stories with tight harmonies. Together, they deliver traditional songs with fresh eyes, and songwriting exploring themes of female friendship, growth and quarter-life crises.
